jenni_lifts Not going lie, I was legitimately scared of losing strength while resting my back/SI joint injury. But, I was smart and listened to my body (and my docs) and gave the inflammation time to settle. I’m still not pulling from the ground but these hang power cleans at 60kg felt so easy! I haven’t done any testing from the hang in recent months but this is probably about 80% of my power max. the_powerofstrength ☕️4 PILLARS OF HEALTH☕️ ~ STRESS MANAGEMENT ~ 🙆🏼‍♂️ While there are definitely good types of stress in our lives, the negative stressors can become overwhelming. ~ 🧠 I like to do something called a “brain dump” where I write every single thing I have to do down on paper. I don’t worry about the order or level of importance of the task; I just get it out of my head and onto paper. ~ 😬 My friends know I am pretty big on this. I’ve been known to write down “eat” at times. Sometimes you’re just so busy you gotta’ remember the simple things! ~ 🗣 Proper breathing can do a ton for your mind and body. Focus on deep inhales through the nose and exhales through the mouth. Breathe through your belly and take your time. Anywhere from 5-15 seconds per inhale/exhale if you can. ~ SLEEP ~ 😴 You all know that sleep is important. Most people (myself included) struggle with good sleep habits. ~ 🤤 6-8 hours of good sleep a night is awesome! ~ 😐 Sometimes a bedtime ritual can help you get to sleep faster. I like to shower right before bed and do 3-5 minutes of stretching, foam rolling or mobility to relax my body and mind. But hey, that’s just me! ~ FOOD ~ 💧 Water: Always prioritize water and staying hydrated. Our bodies are made up of 60% water. We are water and we need water! Adam Sandler in the water boy was actually a pretty smart guy. ~ ➡️ Try this! Say you determine that you should drink 6 of YOUR size water bottles each day. Get 6 rubber bands and place them around your bottle. When you finish it, take a band off! ~ 🥕 Fruits and Veggies: Don’t sleep on the carrots! ~ 🍉 Fruits and veggies contain loads of vital micronutrients that can regulate many of the functions happening in our body. ~ MOVEMENT ~ ☃️ Our bodies almost literally mold to what we do everyday. ~ 🗄 Think about it. People who spend years at a desk job hunched over typically have hunched over posture and pain in their necks, backs and hips. ~ 🦏 Whatever you are doing, think about your body. Is your neck bent forward? Upper back and shoulders slouched? Lower back rounded? ~ 🦒 Think of your body like a checklist from head to toe. You can quickly “put everything back in place.” Wherever you are.
